Nancy, I was in Illinois in November (Rob's from Lombard). We were trying to find a nice wine to bring to a dinner and man... where were we? Well, we found a wonderful wine shop. The owner was so excited about what he had to offer. It was a wonderful surprise. (We wanted to stay there instead of going to the family dinner!) I support the Illinois Wine Consumer Coalition ;->

When I read a description of Obama's presidential feast (with a lot of Lincoln's favourite dishes) with a list of the accompanying wines, the first thought which cane to my head was about your wonderful blog and the education in wines you provide to a win-ovice like me.
Thanks, Ann, for your VGNOs of course and also for supporting the newly formed IWCC. Who knows, in time maybe we here in Illinois will be permitted to buy wine like grown ups again!
